Hi there, not sure if anyone can help? I recently bought a second hand Renault CD Player (Model No 22DC278/62B) to replace the standard Renault Radio/Cassette player that came with the Scenic that I recently bought for my iPod Car Kit Direct (Year 2000). I had a go at installing it myself, and all seemed to be going well, the wires from the existing cassette player are all moulded into colour coded plugs (Black, White and Yellow) which fitted in niclely to the colour coded sockets on the Cd unit. I successfully entered the code and the radio kicked into life!

However, whenever I put a CD into the unit I get a "CD Err" message before the unit ejects the disc. I've tried numerous discs but get the same result. I phoned my local Renault dealer to double check compatability with my Secenic as I'm not sure what model the CD player initially came from, and they tell me that if the radio works then the unit must be compatable and it is likely that there is a fault with the CD player itself. This seems to make sense but the guy I bought it from on ebay has assured me that it was working up untill he took it out of his car last month. Before I take this further with the seller I wanted to find out if anybody knnows if I have missed anything obvious as I am not really very technical!! Are there any extra cables or anything that should be fitted because it is a CD player replacing a cassette player??!??!

Any help or thoughts would be most welcome!

Well i think what your Renault dealer has told you is correct, personally I think I would take it further with the seller.

If it works fine then he won't mind you sending it back to him and giving you a refund.

I didn't want to change the radio in my vehicle so I purchased a CD Changer from

Hope you get it sorted.
